- identify suitable land parcels for vertical farming projects, considering factors such as proximity to markets, access to utilities, and transportation logistics
- conduct negotiations and manage agreements for land acquisition, collaborate with real estate and complete due diligence
- collaborate with energy suppliers and contractors to secure reliable and sustainable energy sources for vertical farms
- establish and maintain relationships with local authorities, planning departments, and regulatory bodies to navigate the permitting process smoothly
- engage with community stakeholders, local residents, and organizations to address concerns and foster positive relationships
- lead the development process for new vertical farming sites, ensuring timely and efficient execution of projects by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, conducting feasibility studies and managing the overall planning process by engaging relevant third parties
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in Land Acquisition or a similar role
- bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred
- strong understanding of UK planning regulations and guidelines, with the ability to navigate complex processes efficiently
- passionate about sustainability/agriculture
