Responsibility
- construct and repair walls, partitions, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and natural stones
- lay out patterns or foundations using chalk lines and measuring tools
- mix mortar or grout and spread it onto surfaces using a trowel
- align and level bricks or stones using plumb lines, levels, or straightedges
- cut or shape bricks, stones, or blocks using hand tools or power tools
- install insulation materials to ensure proper temperature regulation
- apply weatherproofing treatments to protect structures from the elements
- collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project completion
Requirements
- proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role
- proficient in masonry techniques and practices
- knowledge of different types of bricks, stones, and concrete blocks
- familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in masonry work
- ability to read blueprints and follow construction plans
- strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship
- physical stamina to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials
- excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
