- implement lean manufacturing techniques to streamline production processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste
- be the process expert for assigned areas of responsibility

- propose process improvements to management team and implement them as agreed
- serve as the top problem solvers in production
- identify and address bottlenecks and challenges in the production process to ensure seamless workflows
- work with new product development teams to understand, give feedback to and then transfer new products and processes into production
- create and properly maintain process documentation; Work instructions, PFMEA, Control plans, maintenance plans, etc
- work with an ERP system to create and maintain BoMs and Routings
- contribute to the development of new products, ensuring manufacturability and efficiency from design to production
- support day-to-day production as required
- contribute to quality control and continuous improvement initiatives
- comprehensive understanding of a range of problem solving techniques such as 8D and 5 Whys
- stay updated with industry trends and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions
- optimize all aspects of existing production processes. Safety, Quality, Delivery, and cost
- identifying tooling requirements for moulding and assembly processes and the ability to accept and approve tooling for production use

- manage Capex projects from identification through justification, implementation, and validation
- PFMEA’s and implementation of control plans across a range of different product lines
- take responsibility for every aspect of manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to our customers in a cost effective and efficient manner
- manage all aspects of durable and perishable tooling required for production
- creation of concise work instructions for an end to end composite component manufacture to support a “Right first Time” philosophy
- create and properly manage BOMS and routings
- continuous improvement activities using lean methodologies to evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows and identify improvements which reduce waste and “mistake proof” the process
- responsible work measurement to accurately determine capacity and costs
- work with product development teams to ensure new products transition efficiently to the shop floor and achieve planned profit
- attend production, project and quality meetings when required
- properly deploy lean tools and practices throughout operations. Standards work, 5S, TPM, VRK, and VSM
- review plan vs actual existing routings and identify opportunities to reduce lead time
- to analyse performance and liaise with Quality to investigate trends and recommend process improvements
- support new machine justification as and when required
- the purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer is to ensure that all manufacturing engineering activities are handled professionally and effectively following business processes and protocols
- interface with other departments and functions as required to achieve goals and objectives
- organise supplier, customer, and internal quotation review meetings
- support actions necessary to improve asset/machine utilization across the factory
- supports production in high-level technical problems
- other relevant duties as required
- provide technical support to production and project teams
Requirements
- engineering qualifications – ideally HNC upwards
- minimum of 3 years’ experience as a manufacturing engineer
- experience working within an electromechanical assembly environment is preferred

- understanding of CNC turning and milling machining processes
