maintenance technician
Education
- minimum academic qualification of time served apprenticeship, ONC, HNC preferred. Proof will be required
Responsibility
- this position requires the job holder to possess excellent mechanical and electrical maintenance skills
- there is an expectation that some overtime will be expected of the position holder
- the job holder must have the ability to operate on their own initiative but also contribute as a team member working with Maintenance Technicians both electrical and mechanical
- contribute to engineering drawings and documentation husbandry, ensuring they are kept up to date and in compliance with appropriate standards and legislation
- carry out shift hand-overs as appropriate and act as deputy for lead hand when not available
Requirements
- must have time served experience in the discipline. Proof will be required
- ability to apply safe systems of work
- experience in the most recent Edition Wiring Regulations. Proof will be required
- proficient in the use of computer-based systems, specifically in recording fault information, task times and parts usage
- experience in Cable/ Fibre Optic Industry highly desirable
- ability to use fault finding and diagnostic techniques
- ability to read and amend technical drawings as required
- knowledge and experience of welding/burning, machining, pipe work and fitting
