Responsibility
this is an exciting opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic graduate to join an innovative and fast-growing British manufacturer, which has a strong track record of exporting its products around the world
this role will offer you the chance to gain commercial engineering experience through frequent cooperation with other experienced members in our research & development team, all whilst carrying out work on your own personal internship project
this supported project experience will provide first-hand engagement on how a commercial project would develop from the conceptualisation phase, through to the prototype production, and all the way up to being ‘Ready for production’
the focused design process will provide valuable knowledge on generating designs with intent and the manufacturing processes in the forefront of the design process
the role will commonly see you feature design work relating to extrusion, sheet metal, CNC milling/turning, and casting processes, all providing a valuable foundation for a career in mechanical product design and engineering
as part of the R&D team, your role will also include performing quality assurance and improvement tasks, vastly improving your knowledge and practical know-how on managing the quality process on a commercial production line, whilst simultaneously exposing yourself to detailed toleranced manufacturing drawings
these intermediary tasks will leave you in good stead for preparing your own designs to be manufactured as prototypes and tested for final stage production
