Responsibility

  • lead and supervise a team of childcare staff, providing guidance and support in daily operations
  • develop, implement, and review individual care plans for each child, ensuring their needs are met effectively
  • foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages the personal development of each child
  • communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding the progress and well-being of the children
  • ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards within the residential setting
  • drive initiatives that promote teamwork, collaboration, and professional development among staff members
  • maintain accurate records related to care plans, incidents, and other relevant documentation
  • facilitate training sessions for staff on best practices in childcare and effective communication techniques

Education

  • GCSE or equivalent

Requirements

  • proven experience in a childcare setting, particularly with children in a residential environment
  • strong understanding of care plans and their implementation
  • excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
  • ability to drive initiatives that enhance team performance and child development
  • IT proficiency to manage documentation and communication efficiently
  • A compassionate approach towards working with children and an ability to handle challenging situations calmly
  • relevant qualifications or certifications in childcare or social work would be advantageous
  • residential Childcare: 1 year
