Responsibility

  • manage overall pension payment procedures to ensure timely and accurate processing of pension payments to all pensioner customers
  • ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements
  • coordinate closely with the company's other functions to ensure streamlined operations and superior customer service
  • proactively manage team resources, assessing workloads and ensuring deadlines are met
  • oversee the daily operation and outputs of a talented team of payroll professionals based in Birmingham and Belfast ensuring accurate and timely execution of a high number of pensioner payrolls
  • manage the resolution of any payroll related discrepancies
  • maintain transparent communication and cultivate a positive and motivational atmosphere within the team
  • monitor and manage risks associated with pensioner payroll services, taking appropriate action where necessary

Requirements

  • have proven experience in a similar role within the pensions or professional services / financial sector
  • passionate with a laser-focus on customer service excellence
  • possess excellent leadership, management, and people skills
  • have outstanding numerical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • have strong knowledge of payroll systems and pension regulations
  • have exceptional organisational skills with the ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks with good experience of managing multiple payrolls
  • have demonstrable experience in delivering results in a high-pressure environment
  • be highly PC literate with a strong working knowledge of payroll management software packages

  • assisting with processing of client payrolls, updating changes and completing gross-net calculations and appropriate reconciliations
  • appropriate statutory reporting via RTI
  • processing BACS payments

  • year-end reconciliation and production of appropriate documentation
  • actively contribute to our continuous service improvement initiative
  • escalate any potential problems and/or complaints for quick resolution
