level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare - or be working towards it
demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development
relevant other professional qualification
experience of understanding and compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards

ability to demonstrate reasoning, numeracy, literacy and technology skills to good standard
experience of young people with EBD
ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with external organisations and services

to provide effective leadership by implementing organisational strategies, to enable the objectives of the Home to be achieved
to promote team development and effective team working
to maximise the effectiveness of staff through inspiration, motivation, development and the application of the Home’s policies
to be responsible for the management, co-ordination and development of a range of quality services for young people accommodated within the home
