Responsibility
- excavating and digging trenches for foundations, drainage systems, and utility lines
- laying pipes, cables, and conduits for utilities such as water, gas, electricity, and telecommunications
- digging It Groundworks has extensive experience providing a complete range of appropriate services as professional contractors to the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors
- installing drainage and sewer systems, including manholes and inspection chambers
- we are currently looking for a Groundworker to join our construction team in Andover. Typically work on a variety of construction projects, such as residential houses, commercial buildings, roads, and infrastructure
- backfilling excavations and compacting soil to ensure stable foundations
Requirements
- experience in construction and working on-site
- physical fitness and ability to withstand demanding and labor-intensive tasks
- knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment
- ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to follow them diligently
- strong communication skills to liaise with colleagues, supervisors, and other tradespeople
