Lost my money, Henpire.co.uk are scammers.

On Feb 27 2024 I saw an add on Gumtree for sale of "2014 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Automatic 2.2 SD4 Pure Tech 5 doors"

On the same day I texted the number listed on Gumtree (+(deleted by the administrator)). I received back a text message reply from "Henpire" as asking me to email to (deleted by the administrator).

I sent email and searched this company online. I found the website of the company also found the same company listed on Company House website

I also found 262 customers reviews (almost all of them positive) about the company on (deleted by the administrator). This website had review for many other car dealers, e.g. Arnold Clark, Mercedes etc.

I received email from [email protected] letting me know price and saying they are 100% online auction company etc. They sent me link for free membership and to view the auction listing, "link bellow:(deleted by the administrator) (no card details or subscriptions required)."

I started process of buying car on their website. Once I clicked on "Buy", they asked me to upload my driving license to check identity. After that they sent me Used Car Sale Agreement via DocuSign which I signed. The doc was already signed by Managing Director: (deleted by the administrator)(I found same director on Company House website), Sales Executive/Contractor: (deleted by the administrator).

After signing the contract they sent invoice of £XXXX as deposit which I paid. They said they "do not accept payments through debit/credit cards from private customers."
"for private buyers, we have contractors and sales agents who try to post our listings on other websites. You are buying the car from us (Henpire Limited, as you see in the invoice), but the payment should be made by bank transfer to our sales agent ((deleted by the administrator)) assigned."

Their website showed that they have completed paper work and aske to pay remaining balance of £XXXX. which I paid.

on 5/3/24 they said that "our trailers that will leave Inverness on Friday (08 March) and we can load your vehicle onto it in order to have it delivered to you on Monday (11 March) afternoon between 4 and 6 pm."

I did not receive my since that and they stopped replying to my emails.

I contacted this website " (deleted by the administrator)." to check if henpire.co.uk was a genuine company on their website having 262 customers review. I did receive any reply but after sometime this website was not available.

I have reported this to Action Fraud and waiting for any update.
