In the spirit of Christmas, I would like to write a glowing review, but alas, there isn't anything cheery or jingleworthy to say about this level 4 naughty lister.
Carer wanted to care for young adult with complex medical needs and severe disabilities (nonverbal).
You will need to live in and be on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. No bank holidays or annual leave. No sick leave. Breaks during the day or sleep at night cannot be guaranteed.
Need to understand makaton. Need to do personal care. Need to be medicine-trained. Need to be able to do advocacy and be able to communicate effectively. Need to be able to multitask. Need to be motivated, reliable, and bubbly.
No pay, but an allowance of £81.90 per week based on 35 hours min work a week. However, this caring role actually requires 168 hours a week of commitment-that's 48 pence an hour (sorry that's all the government is willing to give).
