Responsibility
- ensure timely and accurate production of P&L and other key management account information
- direct support to the business planning process

- the Management Accountant will manage VAT and other similar submissions to HMRC and other bodies
- to provide detailed variance analysis for Service Leads monthly accounts

- assisting with the month-end closure procedure
- production of monthly management accounts
- management accounts preparation for the company
- assisting with any queries that arise from the auditors
- identification of cost savings and preparing of bid documentation
- contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
- sales analysis
- review financial statements of Franchise offices such as P&L accounts and cash flows
- working closely with stakeholders on a day-to-day basis, as required, supporting and providing key business information to support decision making
- supporting more junior members of the management accounts team
- inventory analysis
- nurturing relationships with the Senior Management Team and other budget holders
- ensure compliance with all financial regulations
- ensuring reviews are taking place to the agreed timetable within area of control
- other accounting related projects
- assisting with the preparation and reconciliation of various balance sheet items in a timely and accurate manner including the posting of any journals
- review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
- driving improvements and efficiencies within the management accounts processes
- support the Financial Controller with the management, creation, development and maintenance of appropriate entries, controls, and reconciliations of accounting information and associated projects
- monitoring banking covenants
- handle and respond to queries relating to invoices
- ownership of the group intercompany processes and balances including Intercompany invoicing and recharges
- proactively managing workload to ensure all deadlines are met within month-end timetable
- this incorporates the roll-over of previous month packs, analysing and posting journals for all activity including accruals, prepayments, all income and expenditure
- drive continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting processes
- processing client invoices
- supporting fellow team members in the day to day running of the Finance department
- liaising with banks, auditors and other external stakeholders as appropriate
- carry out other accounting duties such as filling VAT returns
- ad-hoc reporting, analysis and project work
- support the credit control function incl. account opening, credit limit setting and recovery escalation
- credit control
- preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliation's
- manage VAT, CCL and other HMRC returns excl payroll related
- manage or coordinate various financial projects
- support the team transactionally as needed
- any other duties which may reasonably be asked
- prepare monthly analysis of balance sheet accounts
- preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- to understand company cashflow requirements and prepare and reconcile annual cashflows to the Company Budget

Requirements
- previous work experience in similar role is desirable but not essential
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA studier or AAT Level 4 qualified with view to begin studies
- previous experience working in a similar finance role
