- promote healthy lifestyles and participate in national immunisation and screening programmes
- enable patients to manage their long-term health care needs and to achieve their full potential in terms of independent living
- provide training and support to student Practice Nurses
- plan, implement and evaluate clinical packages of care, including physical, psychological and social needs
- develop packages of care in collaboration with patients and other health and social care professionals
- carry out all duties in accordance with the NMC Code of professional conduct and with regard to the various local and national policies, guidelines and protocols
- undertake clinical procedures, using highly developed physical skills
