head of finance
Responsibility
- head of Finance & Governance
- auditors & tax advisors
- recording transactions on Workday, preparing, and processing journals, ensuring all expenditure is appropriately authorised, and reviewing recurring financial control tasks such as monthly bank & balance sheet reconciliations
- management of the risk register and associated risk processes, as well as taking the lead on specific projects to minimise risk, where required
- line management of the Senior Finance Assistant
- provide additional input as required for financial risk assessments of grant applicants
Requirements
- experience in a senior financial post
- experience of providing financial information, annual reports and accounts to a Board of Trustees
- qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years management accounts experience, ideally within a charity/not for profit environment
- grant-making experience
- technical knowledge of accounting standards and Charity SORPs
- curiosity about and understanding of the commercial radio sector
- strong understanding of internal controls
- A passion to work in charity and transform lives
