Responsibility

• contact customers to book in planned / non planned work from MOTS to servicing and non reactive service work
• identify and anticipate ways in which you can help the customer and achieve sales targets by selling technician labour and products

• the ideal candidate must have exceptional rounded knowledge of vehicles and the work carried out on them, including times taken for specific work, technical considerations when diagnosing a vehicle, and provide support to the technicians themselves with additional knowledge as a sounding board when resolving a vehicles issue that may have arisen
• time management skills are crucial in this role, the role undertakes responsibility for the entire department to achieve the required operational targets
• manage and follow up all work in progress on customer vehicles; liaise regularly with the customer and Workshop Controller to meet pre-arranged time frames
• A strong ability to load the service department diary appropriately, manage the customers expectations on a continual basis, ensuring a high standard of work is generated into the department is critical and management of this is of the highest priority in the service department
• internal sales department liaison and communication across all departments is critical to ensure any piece of work is ready to be started by ensuring all relevant departments are prepared for the work as it arrives
• ensure the customer understands the service charges what work will be or has been carried out involve technical advisers to answer queries where necessary
• management of a 7 bay service department with a close working relationship with all departments makes this role a critical position within the company
• this role requires attention to detail, the ability to get things done, an understanding of the inner workings of a successful service department, drive and passion for the job and a focus on enhancing performance in all aspects of the role
