Responsibility
- lay bricks, blocks, or other masonry units accurately and according to specifications
- set up and align foundation walls, ensuring proper levels and measurements
- construct various structures, including walls, arches, columns, and chimneys, using appropriate techniques and materials
- mix mortar and prepare masonry units for installation
- install insulation and vapor barriers as needed
- ensure the stability and safety of constructed structures by adhering to building codes and best practices
- use appropriate tools and techniques to achieve solid mortar joints and secure bonding of masonry units
- maintain and care for tools, equipment, and machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition
Requirements
- proven experience in bricklaying or masonry is essential
- proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade
- strong understanding of construction methods and materials
- physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour for extended periods
- excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- bricklaying: 1 year
- masonry: 1 year
