now, as we enter our 36th trading year, FEL has become a company providing centralised financial and administrative support to the other business’s owned and/or associated with John and Sarah
as the finance leader in our businesses, you will be responsible for the financial processes and procedures across 7 companies comprising several hospitality venues, a software start-up, a charitable foundation, a small property management company in addition to FEL itself
we operate these companies using centralised reporting systems so you will be digitally connected whilst working from our unique offices at Rose Castle near Carlisle
Responsibility
preparation, development and analysis management accounts for each business
ensure compliance with legal requirement and accounting standards
work closely with the SMT and business managers to prepare annual/ monthly budgets
act as the gate keeper for budgetary control across all businesses
produce and present monthly financial reports to include income statements and cashflow
identify opportunities and threats to each of the hospitality businesses
oversight of payroll and PAYE systems
oversee the production of annual statutory accounts and be key contact for audit
Requirements
accountancy skills qualified to AAT Level 4 or similar
minimum of 5 years experience in financial management
advanced knowledge of Xero Accounting Software
knowledge of charitable accounting practices
have worked in a start-up culture
exposure to hospitality sector
bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
