Requirements
- proven bookkeeping experience using an accounting software, preferably Xero but this is not a requirement
- strong understanding of accounting principles
- exceptional attention to detail with a willingness to get stuck into the detail
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- relevant accounting qualification is preferred as either qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience
- experience in either a construction or hospitality environment would be beneficial but not a requirement
Responsibility
- bookkeeping: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date financial records including the posting of journal entries
- variance Analysis: Prepare commentary on movements against Budgets, Forecasts and Prior Periods for all financial statements
- accounts Payable: Handle invoices received across the Company and prepare payment runs on banking software for director approval
- accounts Receivable: Prepare invoices as required and manage the collection of cash against invoices issued to external vendors
- VAT: Maintain correct accounting treatment for VAT and prepare and submit the quarterly VAT Returns across the Group
- balance Sheet Reconciliations: Gather the necessary supporting documentation to substantiate the balance sheets of the Group
- bank Reconciliations: Post bank entries into the accounting ledgers and prepare timely bank reconciliations ensuring our cash ledgers are accurate
- management Accounts: Prepare timely and accurate financial statements using accounting software including monthly balance sheets, profit & loss, and trial balances, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards
