Responsibility
- contribute to the global design of the DestinE machine learning post-processing workflow
- contribute to integrate the multiple software components of the AI-driven weather-forecasting DE stack
- develop and support the DestinE Data Provisioning service ‘Polytope’
- contribute to the development of the graph-based post-processing framework for DestinE workflows
- develop a portable deployment of this system as a “forecast-in-a-box” for DestinE end-users
- integrate DestinE workflow and data handling services with the DestinE Core Service Platform and the DestinE Data Lake
- define the development requirements for dedicated post-processing components to be able to handle machine learning data efficiently
- explore performance portability for data-centric workflows executing on GPU-enabled platforms
Education
- A university degree in a physical, computational, or mathematical science, or related subject, or equivalent professional experience
- demonstrated experience developing object-oriented software in Python
- experience developing object-oriented software in Python
- demonstrated experience developing large scale, object-oriented software in Python
- demonstrated experience developing software in Python is required
- programming skills with scripting languages in a UNIX/Linux environment required
- experience designing complex data processing workflows
- experience in software deployment
Requirements
- competence in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, preferably in Python
- demonstrated ability of programming in UNIX/Linux systems
- familiarity with software lifecycle maintenance is highly desirable
- demonstrated experience developing object-oriented software
- experience with Build Systems is desirable
- demonstrated ability programming in UNIX/Linux
- demonstrated ability programming in UNIX/Linux systems
- familiarity with the software development lifecycle as part of a team is desirable
