Responsibility
- general Mechanical duties
- installation of mechanical equipment such as motors, gearboxes, bearings
- work and adhere to health and safety legislation of a high standard

- fitting of steel support systems
- have a mechanical engineering/fitting capability that expands out from workshop fitting, such as working out on site
- participate in efforts that surround a job, such as preliminary processes before work begins
- fault finding on mechanical equipment
- provide support and assistance to customers based on their requirements/work-scope
- examining pumps for malfunctioning to locate damage and wear, noting pump replacement parts
- follow engineering drawings/illustrations/information to assemble and or disassemble systems safely
- striping and survey pumping equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures
- responsible for the servicing and testing of our products in house and out on site
- carry out inspections and surveys of mechanical equipment and systems
- responsibility for the use of a company van
- commission equipment out on site and make sure the equipment meets the criteria and standards set for safe use
- carrying out low pressure testing of pumps to ensure all parts are functioning correctly
- carry out maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems
- providing an update of pump parts required and status of current repairs to workshop supervisor
- be available to travel both nationally & worldwide and not solely be a workshop-based fitter
- carry out repairs of mechanical equipment and systems
- following all safety procedures and use proper protective coverings
- understand and sign onto all CPP/RAMS on Site and follow Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments
- carry out overhaul works of mechanical equipment and systems
- understanding and commitment to adhering to operating in alignment with company values, safety; and quality procedures/policies
- adhere to all Health and Safety requirements and rules on Site
- liaise with customers and conduct work such as installations or general maintenance of boiler support systems on site
- rebuild pumping equipment in accordance with applicable pump standards
- complete reports and spares sheets
- works can be varied and at times may be required to undertake other duties such as assisting an Electrician or Civils engineer
- collaborate with Managers regarding work/job structures
- utilise the correct power tools, hand tools and machinery to complete mechanical works
- implement all of the company’s rules or procedures within the Health and Safety Policy that are appropriate to the activities being undertaken
- work with and be competent around pressurised components including valves and steam pipe work
- follow Safe Systems of Work procedures including isolations and lock-out-tag-out methodology
- to carry out all production operations in accordance with the company health & safety policy. Ensuring your personal safety and that of others working in your area
- adhere to site policies
- we are looking for tradespeople with torque tensioning experience
- undertake risk assessment and associated paperwork, where required, of the relevant activities to ensure a suitable and effective safe system of work
Requirements
- essential to have completed a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or be a time-served individual
- have great problem-solving skills
- work well in a team and be a team player

- basic computer skills
- possess interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with colleagues, customers and potential clients
- basic CAD skills
- be available and willing to travel nationwide
- driving Licence and own vehicle is essential
- contribute to the development of products, procedures and processes for further innovation
