- to ensure residents’ mealtimes are a pleasant and dignified experience
- to assist and encourage residents with their nutritional needs, choices, physical comfort, personal hygiene and appearance
- to engage residents in meaningful activity or occupation to stimulate their interests and support them
- to perform duties as specified by Team leaders and in line with the agreed person centered care plans
- to assist residents with light, therapeutic domestic tasks for example laying and clearing tables
- to encourage and assist residents with activities when in dining areas prior to meals being served
- to assist other staff to serve meals and drinks in dining and communal areas or in residents rooms
- to help staff with observations and record on charts and in care plans
