We had a complex property that needed valuation, and Corporate Commercial Surveyors handled it expertly. Their attention to detail and thorough research helped us get an accurate and fair assessment. I’m very impressed with their service.
I worked with CCS for a couple of years in the development of systems and processes, integrating API's to the VOA portal on the Government Gateway. The process was clearly mapped out and well defined - I was impressed at the customercentric approach that the company undertook… though I was concerned that there were elements of the process that CCS weren't in control of… there was a lot of 'If This, Then That' modelling required to shape the system, but the vast majority of the 'this' was governed by the VOA, and the 'that' could only ever be a reaction from CCS, once the case had been submitted. I didn't like this, because it was clear that there was a great deal of passion within the Company, whereas the VOA seemed largely dispassionate and complaicent. In spite of this, all of the teams within the business were well formed and the integration across the Company was good. No two days were the same, and there was always a new idea ready to be worked on, which was very enjoyable.
I find working for Corporate Commercial Surveyors to be stimulating and challenging. Learning the various methods of rating valuation and explaining them to clients on a daily basis was interesting and rewarding, and helping them to understand why their valuation might be out of date was particularly challenging, as it seemed that many of the people I spoke to had a very limited understanding of Business Rates and how the Valuation Office Agency calculate them and coupled with the fact that the rateable value determined by them, and the amount payable to the council was a different figure seemed to blow a lot of people's minds!
The culture was very much focussed on delivering results - which is exactly what I would expect when working for a business that wants to do right by it's staff and customers. I was personally involved in consultancy work that secured considerable savings for customers, so I feel very positive about the results the service the Company delivers.
The work is complex and requires tenancity… dealing with Government Departments across a large volume of clients requires focus and commitment, but ultimately it comes back to the old saying - if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
I agree with this. I've written my own review stating similar. If I hadn't had to relocate, I would not have moved on.

A good place to work, interesting environment with no 2 days being the same. Frustration comes from the negative reviews that get left online as a result of marketing emails… and whilst I understand that can be a source of irritation the amount of hassle that staff get as a result of keyboard warriors is unfair. That being said, the Company is very supportive and the staff are great to work with.
As an ex-employee of Corporate Commercial Surveyors, I can say that this is completely untrue. This comment speaks about negative reviews, yet they are completely justified when the company is only interested in chasing businesses for their money and not to help them save money as promised! And saying that the company is supportive to their staff is a load of rubbish too. They will only focus on the staff that they like and won't even bother trying to help the staff that need help or require further training! The training is completely poor and unprofessional and it was because of the treatment I witnessed to myself and a couple of others that I decided I was going to leave the company. I can hands down say I am embarrassed to even work for a bunch of scammers that only want to take your money and I hope they get exposed for who they really are. As for the staff there making loads of money from their commissions in "saving customer's their money", you should get a job you could actually be proud to do without the need to scam others who actually go out and work hard for what they earn.
I'm not saying this out of spite. I'm saying this to protect people so they can actually save their money for real by not letting Corporate Commercial Surveyors touch your money because the company is a scam. Stay well away.
Well from my first few days at Hampton Lovett (before they changed their identity to Corporate Commercial Surveyors), they would have me sitting with the manager and one of the assessors writing down notes, writing the things to say and not to say, as well as details about the company's history which ultimately didn't help in any form of training for the job at all if I'm honest. After that we were dumped to one side listening in on calls from other staff members until we were basically told we were going on the phones. The staff get a folder of data of various businesses which they search on the GOV website to see how much they pay in business rates and how much they can potentially "save" them. They use a script which they repeat to their customers once they have got your interest at the start of the call and will run by it word by word. The same script was used after the company changed it's name after Hampton Lovett kept getting so many negative reviews and comments. As for what made it even more poor, we as new starters were never assisted by the management or given any tips or help to help us learn the job, nor were we taken notice of as the management liked to focus on their favourite members of staff and give them their time to help them achieve results rather than help the staff that were actually struggling. When they did notice, they just got an assessor to sit with us again but not actually help us. It made me feel more of a hindrance than a valued member of staff.
As time went on and I began speaking with more customers and hearing about their experiences with the company and how some of them were still waiting months (or even a year or more on some occasions) for the company to go back to them after taking their money, the pieces started falling into place for the type of company I was working for and I didn't like it. All they cared about was taking money from business owners with no care to actually help them and they would do anything it took, including lying to the customers, in order to get it. They even had a chart on the wall showing the amount the staff on the phone calls make once they've secured a successful booking with customers and the more money they're told they could get back, the more money the company would get out of you. The fact that one assessor actually said he's been telling customers he takes no commission when in reality he actually does get a cut from it really disgusted me and made me feel ashamed to even be in the same building as them.
Believe me when I say as tempting as it is when they say they can save you money or even get money back, it would be a lot safer in the long run for you to say no to them and keep your money where it's safe from their greedy hands.
Sorry but I am merely stating what I had personally witnessed from my time there. And the fact that people seem to give my response a thumbs down just makes me think they're from people that work with the company or have been asked to do so because all I have done in my comments is try to protect business owners from being scammed. Look at the latest comments on this reply, two more people stating how they have been scammed by CCS! It's disgusting behaviour and I don't know how the people in that business can live with themselves! And for you to say you think I might be referring to a different company, I can assure you I know full well who I worked for, and I'm ashamed to admit ever working with them in the first place. Had I known the kind of business I was walking into in the first place, I never would have done it. But on the other hand, at least I can use what I have experienced to warn others from getting scammed by them.
Their great knowledge of the commercial property market, and the skill of interpreting very complex regulations, became quite indispensable to us when working out the best possible business rate deals.
After a particularly frustrating experience with another consultancy, CCS stepped in and produced the result I was aiming for. I would not think twice about recommending their services.
Was a little apprehensive at the start of the journey, but overall my concerns were ill-founded. Communication was decent and the end result was a fair reduction in business rates that saved money. Generally very good.
What does a commercial surveyor do?
Corproate Commercial Surveyors have been an excellent service, even in using them now. They have highlighted any areas with savings to be made and also negotiated on my behalf to get a better result.
Excellent levels of rates savings across our portfolio, and great efficiency in dealing with queries. Altus are always happy to help and provide a high standard of service. Brilliant to deal with
Overall Corporate Commercial Surveyors were fantastic. My rates liabilities for my 3 small neighbouring units were draining my business finances, but thanks to the magic these folks performed my rates bill is now zero.
Working with this company has been a game changer for my business. They have made me realize the complication that surrounds the business rates and substantially saved it for me.
The understanding of the market and valuations for the commercial property was tremendous. He has found enormous savings for my business.
The service from beginning to end has been brilliant; the team was so responsive and communicative to get everything we needed done in time.
Business rates can always be a little tricky to manage, being a logistics company. Their focused knowledge meant that we were optimized in property valuations.
I was a bit dubious about using Corporate Commercial Surveyors to begin with, but after asking the right questions and getting an understanding of what they were aiming to achieve, everything made sense. They saved my business a tidy sum, and the refund was a welcome enhancement. Good work.
Being a small business owner, a penny counts. This company really helped me attain the most appropriate property valuations. I recommend it
Itwas skeptical, by the way, at first, but I'm glad that I agreed to work with them. They reduced my business rates and saved me by the bundle.
Honestly, I was totally shocked by how much money they managed to save me through having my business rates reduced. A very good investment to have them on my team again.
They really understand the detail in how commercial properties are valued. They found areas for appeal and managed to get my rates reduced by so much .
Saved my business from going under. Heroes.
For years of overpayment finally put right through this company in my quest to get the right rateable value for my property. It saved me serious money.
Business rates can be such a nightmare, but this company really made it as painless as possible. Efficient, professional, effective—what more could one ask for?
The team was very supportive on such a tricky area. They spotted savings that I would've never even been aware of. Would highly recommend using their service.
Great place to work… have been with them for years and can't ever see myself moving away.
Working for CCS was a powerful learning experience- the work was interesting, the people were great. The hardest thing to deal with was the fact that no matter how much effort the teams put in to dealing with a case, the government would often stick to their longest timeframe and make life very difficult. Nevertheless, to atmosphere and camaraderie was great.
I had the opportunity to work at Corporate Commercial Surveyors for a year, and it was a fantastic experience that helped me gain valuable industry knowledge. The staff were incredibly welcoming and supportive throughout my time there. They truly cared about my growth and were always willing to help me learn new skills and navigate the industry.
I'm grateful for the opportunity I had with the company. It was a great place to start my career, and I would highly recommend it. It's an experience I'll always appreciate.
Corporate Commercial Surveyors did a good job. They were detailed and transparent about their fees and did what they said they would. They also provided excellent advice on our situation as we occupy more than one property, and they saved us a few quid. Happy days.
I worked with many businesses in the Birmingham area… it is no suprise there were savings to be had!
Avoid these scammers
Very poor experience with Hampton Lovett and am now making a County Court claim against them.
As others have mentioned Corporate Commercial Surveyors are the company that Hampton Lovett will say have taken over your case when you start to complain.
Not sure if that works legally as Corporate Commercial Surveyors are listed at Companies House as dormant with no employees!
It sounds like an awful experience. How did you find out about the company's status at the Companies House?
Your experience sounds a long way from ours… but you seem to be referring to Hampton Lovett? Who are they?
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
This is how they work - they will set up a no fee 1st visit where the sales rep will tell you that you have a strong case for getting a reduction on your business rates.
You are then told that there is a fee of £2,000 to go to the next step and have you sign an agreement for this service.
What is not being discussed is that you have NO cooling off period or any way out of the agreement after this point.
My understanding was that they will only proceed to the next step once ive paid their fee - turns out the agreement I've signed you are still 100% liable for the fee even if you cancel. So they get £2,000 for not lifting a finger.
Doing a bit more research online (really wished I did this before dealing with them) it seems that this company is making more money out of people through court judgments to pay their Agreement Fee than happy clients who they have actually saved money for!
My contact with in the company was (deleted by the administrator) - ive asked him to give me 3 references of companies where they've had success with reducing their bills - he's not been able to give me a single reference.
I’m sorry you had a bad experience - we found them to be very professional and helpful.
Sorry you had a bad experience, but reading your post it seems that you chose not to pay their fees and that your issue is that they chased you for those fees.
You say that your understanding was different to the contract you signed. It seems to me that this was all a misunderstanding on your part, rather than a case of a bad experience.
Material misrepresentation and inducement. Totally unethical. No governing body or regulator. Scamming companies. UK shouldn’t allow these companies to operate
