Responsibility
- assisting the Commercial Director and Senior Estimator with accurate and profitable pricing for potential projects
- assisting in commercial administration and correspondence as required
- analysis of construction drawings to produce detailed schedules of works/ Bills of Quantities for use in tendering and pricing exercises
- abstraction of material and sub-contract requirements from tender documentation for sourcing and pricing
- sending out pricing enquiries to existing and new suppliers, sourcing quality materials whilst achieving the best possible price
- review and appraisal of material and subcontractor quotations
- learning about the identification of risk and pricing of risks through coaching from an estimator
- work with the project delivery team and design team to agree construction techniques which form the basis of estimating strategy
Requirements
- you will have or be expected to achieve a good result to degree level or similar, in a relevant discipline
- highly numerate, with engineering, commercial or project management acumen
- excellent organisation, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to manage your own workload according to the business need
- ability to work accurately, with attention to detail and appreciate its importance when assisting others
- A highly motivated attitude and willingness to learn
- excellent proficiency in all Microsoft programmes, particularly excel
- ability to work to strict deadlines and thrive in a fast past environment
- excel at building and maintaining positive relationships
