Responsibility
- within this elevated position the Senior Claims Handler will be expected to work with a high level of autonomy
- liaising closely with all employees within the Claims Validation Department you will support the Senior Handlers on claims as required
- this role primarily exists to manage a day-to-day workload of insurance claims, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring all Service Level Agreements are met

- proactively identify opportunities to develop internal systems and processes and, where appropriate, reduce costs whilst ensuring we deliver a quality, customer focused service to our policy holders
- ensuring comprehensive notes are recorded on all files
- monitoring Supplier activities and performance
- location: Hybrid or Office working with either our Newcastle-under-Lyme or Culmhead office. Commuting to one of these locations on a regular basis is a requirement of the role
- provide coaching and support to network surveyors and contractors , and act as their key point of contact to advise them on policy queries and complaints handling as required
- setting and maintaining financial reserves
- to pursue surveyors to ensure their compliance with company SLAs
- liaising with all parties involved on the claim, ensuring the claim progresses smoothly until completion
- ensure comprehensive notes are recorded on all files
- to flag any sight call claims appropriately on the system and ensure these are accurately signposted to the surveyors
- provide coaching to network surveyors, and act as their key point of contact to advise them on policy queries and complaints handling as required
- engaging with clients, customers, and suppliers via an omni channel approach which includes email, phone, and our bespoke messaging service
- communication is issued with any relevant reporting to client using the clients preferred reporting process
- provide coaching and support to contractors, and act as their key point of contact to advise them on policy queries and complaints handling as required
- to ensure all phone calls are answered in a timely manner in accordance with SLA agreements and maintain high levels of phone availability as and when required in line with business demands
Requirements
- previous customer service experience and experience with preventing and resolving complaints
- experience in an environment requiring excellent communication, both verbal and written
- previous customer service experience

- good understanding of Fraud and Recoveries processes
- good IT skills with the ability to use multiple systems
- general building/construction/underground services knowledge
- working individually as well as part of a Team
- CII Qualified to Cert CII level
- good communication skills
