Responsibility
- prepare and cook a variety of authentic Sri Lankan curry dishes, including meat, seafood, and vegetarian options
- develop and enhance recipes to ensure consistency and quality
- source, prepare, and mix traditional Sri Lankan spices for curries and side dishes
- ensure food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
- manage inventory and maintain stock levels for Sri Lankan ingredients
- collaborate with the kitchen team to create menus that represent authentic Sri Lankan cuisine
- design, prepare, and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and bread
- experiment with new recipes and techniques to create innovative offerings
Requirements
- proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role
- strong understanding of baking techniques, pastry design, and decoration
- proven experience as a chef specializing in Sri Lankan cuisine
- in-depth knowledge of Sri Lankan spices, flavors, and cooking techniques
- ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- A passion for culinary arts with creativity in developing new dessert concepts
- familiarity with various cooking equipment and tools used in pastry production
- baking: 5 years
