Responsibility

  • assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
  • prepare and maintain laboratory samples for diagnostic testing

Education

  • certificate of Higher Education

Requirements

  • qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant certification or diploma/ Experienced nursing assistant with experience working in a veterinary centre
  • experience in a veterinary setting is preferred, particularly in laboratory work
  • strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
  • ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
  • strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • willingness to continue professional development and training
  • veterinary experience: 1 year

surgeon

Responsibility

  • conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose health issues and determine appropriate treatment plans. Clinical freedom
  • perform surgical procedures
  • administer anaesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures to ensure their safety and well-being
  • collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to provide comprehensive care for patients
  • maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all surgical procedures and treatments administered
  • communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment options, post-operative care, and follow-up appointments
  • stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and surgery through continuous professional development
  • participate in laboratory work as necessary, including diagnostic testing and analysis

Requirements

  • A degree in Veterinary Medicine and full registration with the relevant veterinary governing body
  • proven experience in a veterinary practice
  • strong knowledge of veterinary laboratory procedures is an advantage
  • excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information to pet owners in an understandable manner
  • A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners, demonstrating empathy and understanding at all times
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently when required
  • strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of veterinary care
  • veterinary experience: 5 years
