- to identify and make contact with Carers in such a way as to enable them to express their needs and views
- assist Carers to complete Carers Assessments leading to an appropriate support plan
- contact with carers can be through face to face meetings, on the telephone or through virtual means
- to identify and document appropriate case information
- to identify the individual needs of Carers and target services to meet their needs or identify alternative sources of help available
- to provide an up-to-date information service for Carers and their families and professionals working with Carers
- to enter data accurately and in a timely manner onto Carer Support West Cumbria database systems and IAS . Training will be given
