- have full understanding of COSHH, HACCP and Health and Safety legislation
- lead by example in this hands-on role with food preparation, cleaning and general kitchen duties
- consult with residents on a regular basis to ensure that their needs and choices are being met
- prepare special diets for residents as directed by the nursing staff
- maintain agreed cleaning and deep cleaning schedules for the kitchen
- this role is subject to an enhanced criminal record check
- develop and prepare menus taking into account the content, balance, colour, nutritional values and clinical needs, in line with the agreed budget
Requirements
- working to a budget and maintaining stock control
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Catering
- an interest in menu planning to cater to specific & prescribed dietary needs
- A talented communicator, someone who will build great relationships with their team, residents and their families
- please note that this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check
