pastry chef
Responsibility
- fry, fill, glaze and decorate different doughnut flavours fresh every morning
- prepare various custards, creams, glazes and jams for doughnuts
- bake and finish vegan brownies including preparing vegan ganache and cremeaux
- make sandwiches up every morning using simple high-quality ingredients
- prepare vegetables, pickles, spreads and oils for sandwiches
- help shape our sourdough breads
- help plan doughnut flavours and sandwich fillings, making suggestions and testing new flavours
- monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies
Requirements
- previous hospitality experience essential, ideally in a kitchen role and any experience in the pastry section would be great
- knowledge of baking techniques, different creams/glazes/custards and jam-making
- knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
