Responsibility
- prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and menu specifications
- assist in the development of new dessert offerings, contributing innovative ideas to enhance the menu
- ensure all food preparation is conducted in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- maintain an organised and clean workspace, ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use
- collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods
- monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to the Head Chef
- participate in training sessions for new kitchen staff on pastry techniques and food safety practices
Requirements
- proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role within a restaurant or culinary environment
- strong knowledge of baking techniques, food production processes, and culinary terminology
- familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continually learn and improve skills within the kitchen environment
