Requirements
- excellent communication skills
- experience of building positive working relationships with families, staff and other health and social care professionals
- experience of management within Children Services
- ability to plan and organise workloads effectively
- good administrative skills and computer literacy
- experience of managing and developing an effective staff team including recruitment, training, supporting and supervising staff
- ability to maintain clear written and electronic records and to follow statutory reporting procedures
- experience of financial management desirable
Responsibility
- ensuring adequate staffing levels that meet the needs of the Centre
- ensuring that budgets are managed effectively, and the use of finances is properly monitored
- monitoring closely the fabric of the building and taking remedial action where necessary
- to undertake any other managerial duties as may be necessary
- taking responsibility for progressing any complaints or child protection concerns
- to be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints
- addressing issues in relation to conduct and competence of staff
- creating rotas which fit best with family’s needs, and which allow proper handovers between shifts
