procurement officer
Responsibility
- building strong relationships internally to understand which services are required to be delivered by external subcontractors
- understanding the diverse offerings across the Bell property maintenance sector, operating in highly skilled and technical areas
- maintaining and developing close working relationships with our subcontractor supply chain and internal operational colleagues
- act as a conduit to ensure timely feedback is provided on services performed and future relationships nurtured
- selection of subcontractor partners - do prospective partners have the necessary skills, competence, qualifications, and experience?
- ensuring work is undertaken compliantly and to the high standard demanded by the Bell brand. As well as the technical competence fundamentals we also want to ensure our corporate ethos and values are upheld across our supply chain
- work closely with our Subcontractor Ledger team in the Finance department to ensure compliance across IR35, Insurance and Qualification requirements
- proactively manage and control our subcontractor onboarding process
Requirements
- A strong technical background, with a good commercial understanding of industry qualifications and competencies
- prior experience in procuring subcontractor services in the construction industry
- experience negotiating prices, ensuring competitive tenders are obtained and conducting further negotiations as required
- procurement: 3 years
- purchasing: 3 years
- managing Sub-contractors: 3 years
- negotiation: 3 years
