Responsibility
- we are looking for a qualified Nursery Cook at our Private Day Nursery to work approx 30 hours per week
- ensure all meal planning and food ordering is in line with the agreed catering budgets
- to maintain adequate stores and food stuffs in the appropriate storage conditions
- ensure the kitchen and kitchen equipment are kept clean and tidy
- to observe high standards of food hygiene during the preparation, cooking, and serving of all foods
- the Nursery Cook will be solely responsible for preparing snacks, lunch, and tea for all the children in the nursery. Adhering to menus designed by our Catering Manager and maintaining high levels of cleanliness in all aspects of work

- maintain the Safer Food, Better Business documentation daily to comply with food safety management procedures and food hygiene regulations
Requirements
- current Food Hygiene Certificate or willing to carryout
- capable of working under pressure in an organised way
- experience of working in a childcare environment is preferable
- knowledge of food preparation for special dietary needs i.e. vegetarian, allergies
- ability to work with children in preparing simple snacks and baking preparation
- ability to work as part of a team
- A passion for cooking
