Education

  • GCSE or equivalent

Responsibility

  • to provide guidance and support to all Residential support Workers
  • to present any concerns to the the Registered Manager as appropriate
  • to plan, manage and lead shifts ensuring children and young people are kept safe and engaged throughout the day
  • to ensure the Placement Plan for each child is followed and adhered to at all times
  • to ensure education and school are promoted and that each child’s attendance in education is maintained
  • to ensure that all staff members act in a professional manner
  • to take a lead role in the management of the care and welfare of each child and young person in placement
  • to ensure all policies and procedures, as well as risk assessments, are adhered to at all times

Requirements

  • residential Childcare: 1 year
  • support Environment: 1 year

Education

  • GCSE or equivalent

Responsibility

  • working from the guidelines from the 1989 Children’s Act, National Minimum Standards, Every Child Matters and any other relevant legislation
  • to provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel secure and free from harm
  • establishing positive relationships with young people and always offering them unconditional and positive regard
  • helping young people gain self control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct
  • ensuring that each young person’s care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs
  • attending to practical matters in relation to childcare
  • to maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of Inspirations
  • to provide a positive role model to be able to offer advice, guidance and assistance where appropriate

Requirements

  • secondary school qualifications
  • university/college qualifications
  • previous experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviour is preferred
  • A Compassionate and patient demeanour
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
