I joined AssetTagz to deliver a significant upgrade to their software systems and did so successfully—meeting their technical goals and tight deadlines. I implemented scalable solutions, improved system architecture, and went above and beyond to provide long-term value.
Unfortunately, after delivering everything they asked for, I was made redundant with little warning, and the company chose to outsource development to cheaper overseas contractors. It was disheartening to see commitment and quality of work undervalued in favour of cost-cutting.
While the product may continue to function, companies should consider not just what gets built, but how it’s built—and the people behind it. I hope AssetTagz recognises the importance of retaining and respecting the talent that helps them grow.
