Responsibility
- we have the opportunity for assistant ecologists to join our team
- the role will involve undertaking surveys, assisting our ecologists with project management tasks and drafting ecological reports
- there will be opportunities to gain experience and training in biodiversity net gain, GIS and habitat creation
- the role will be based from our Sussex office, on a Fixed Term or Permanent contract
- as a consultant ecologist you will be responsible for leading ecological surveys, completing site work, writing reports under the guidance of senior staff, and assisting with project management responsibilities
- we have the opportunity for assistant ecologists to join our team working on a fixed term basis throughout the core survey season May – October 2024
- this is an exciting opportunity for an assistant ecologist to gain practical survey and mitigation experience for a range of species and habitats

Education
- bachelor's
Requirements
- located in the South East of England
- have a minimum of two years professional experience working in ecological consultancy or a similar role
- A degree in ecology or related field
- good field identification skills and protected species surveying experience
- UK botany field identification skills
- full knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation, UK planning policy and best practice survey techniques
- demonstrable experience of conducting UK Habitat Classification surveys and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
