Responsibility

• review project documents such as drawings, specifications, and proposals to determine electrical system requirements
• conduct site visits to gather information about existing electrical systems and assess any necessary upgrades or modifications
• prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical systems including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs

• create detailed project budgets and schedules in collaboration with project managers
• communicate with suppliers to obtain pricing and availability information
• evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements and budget constraints
• participate in project meetings and provide updates on cost estimates and budgets
• maintain accurate records of project costs and change orders
• assist in value engineering efforts to find cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing project quality
• stay current with industry trends and best practices related to electrical estimating and construction management

Requirements

• at least 2 years of experience in electrical estimating or a related field
• at least 4 years of experience in commercial electrical installations
• strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction methods
