I have now fostered four dogs from ADRS, the support I have received has been phenomenal.
When I got my home check carried out, it's almost as if the charity try to put you off fostering and adopting with all the worst case scenarios so there is no going into this blind. You know it is going to be tough.
I've had a good mix of fosters through the charity. My first one was a particular challenge as she wouldn't come out of the crate but I went to another fosterer for the charity for support who helped me. Abbie turned into the most amazing, confident, loving dog who is with her forever family. The absolutely adore her.
My second foster was a bit more difficult, he was boisterous and we had a few chewed up and broken items which the charity offered to replace. I obviously declined, they are a charity, I knew what I was signing up for and destructive or not, the dog just needed some guidance, training and love. Over time he became a well behaved dog and is with his forever home.
The two I have now are just the most adorable dogs, they have been a walk in the park to look after. I toyed with keeping one of them but because of my desire to continue fostering, I decided it's best for him to be adopted. The charity showed their support and understanding with my decision.
Throughout the whole process, ADRS have been transparent and supportive. They check in on the dogs, check in on me and want to ensure the dogs are being well cared for. Their home checks are thorough, somewhat daunting but at least you know what you are signing up to - and if you don't, you didn't listen.
If you are considering to adopt or foster, ADRS are 100% the best to do it with. I feel part of a family with them.
Do not use these people they are not professional in rehoming these dogs in the correct environments. They will say that the dogs come with problems but do not ensure that they are giving them to people or homes that have all the necessary skills to handle these dogs some which are deeply traumatised. Don't adopt dogs from overseas is the lesson I learnt for this unfortunate scenario.
By your own admission you were warned in advance what could happen. If you ignored what you were told and went ahead anyway that's not anyone's responsibility but your own.
ADRS are not at fault because you couldn’t handle what you agreed to do! They couldn’t prepare you any more. You agreed to take a dog no matter what. So how can you blame them? Please do not try to put others off adopting from abroad or ADRS. That’s cruel to the poor dogs that could get successful homes with people with patience. In my experience they have been amazing. Don’t blame them for your lack of experience and willingness to work with a dogs needs and don’t put all dogs into one category. They are supportive and a great wee charity. Shame on you bad mouthing them.
ADRS are amazing. They work so hard and are so passionate about saving the dogs. They are extremely supportive even after you adopt. If you are looking to seriously rescue a dog, these guys are the best. Highly recommend.
I have adopted 2 dogs, and before adoption took place I was given lots of information support and advice. My 2 dogs have settled in well, and there is fantastic support network, great organisation.
I have adopted a beautiful lil cat from this rescue. I have also helped walk the dogs that end up in kennels after the adopters get rid and hand the dogs back. It’s heartbreaking. But the rescue are great with advice and assistance and they really care and try get the best suited home for the specific animal. They are always contactable and have the animals best interests as their top priority always.
ADRS is an amazing charity. I got my 1st rescue from Romania a year and a half ago. They were so informative, helpful and supportive. My homecheck was very thorough and again very informative and supportive. After the dogs arrival the support was unbelievable. ADRS is one big friendly and helpful family and i have never looked back. I am now on dog no.2 and they are amazing much like the charity!!
I have adopted three wonderful dogs with ADRS. I was given so much advice and have been endlessly supported since day 1. The team are always available when I've had questions.
My 3 girls are thriving and are healthy, happy and very much loved.

I have adopted two beautiful dogs through this organisation. They have been professional, caring and a constant source of advice and support.
I can’t believe I’ve been lucky enough to adopt such great dogs who have become much loved members of the family.
Highly recommend this rescue, have adopted 3 dogs through them and the support is amazing. They have a very in-depth process, lovely homecheck team and an amazing support system for those who have adopted. Their welfare team always go above and beyond if you have any issues.
My dog was severely anemic and under weight when we adopted her we took her to vets you and she had to have an operation on her stomach and they discovered her intestines were all twisted she obviously had some underlying condition they had to put her down so I wouldn't recommend anyone adopting from them she should still be with us
How on earth is a rescue organisation responsible for your dog’s underlying medical condition? They’re no more aware of the issue than a breeder would be.
They are an amazing organisation who work tirelessly to rehome these dogs.
Missing out the main information here that the rescue did indeed have her vet checked prior to adoption. The rescue also had to push you to get her to the vets after lying about the fact you took her to get spayed. Then again saying she was not well and didn't get her vet checked until the rescue once again pushed you to do this. The rescue paid for ALL vet visits, medication and the spay.
Sounds like a negligent and spiteful adopter sadly. Especially when the rescue paid all her vet bills. What exactly did the owner do for the dog?
This the same dog the rescue had to practically force you to take to the vet because you lied and said she had been but she hadnt?
This is factually incorrect and not the case!!!!!!! Shame on you.
