Responsibility

  •  To liaise with the wellbeing team and other professionals as appropriate to ensure the effective operation of the service
  • our core aim is to build confidence and self-awareness, providing students with the skills necessary to recognise and take opportunities
  •  To uphold good practice as described by the BACP/UKCP ethical guidelines
  • ultimately our mission is to enable students to fulfil their potential and enjoy a sustainable career within the creative arts industry
  •  To provide an independent, professional and confidential counselling service to students at ACM through individual sessions, responding to their personal, social, emotional or educational concerns in line with ACM’s Counsellor Services Contract 2019
  •  To undertake enhanced DBS checks
  •  To promote a safe, caring and supportive environment where such concerns may be explored, thereby promoting the mental and emotional health of students at ACM
  •  To contract with the student at the outset of their therapy to inform them of the nature and boundaries of the counselling relationship
