Responsibility
- lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other types of masonry units
- interpret blueprints and specifications to determine layout and materials required
- cut or shape materials to fit specific dimensions using hand or power tools
- mix mortar or grout and spread it onto bricks using trowels
- repair existing masonry structures by replacing bricks or stones
- ensure structures are level and aligned correctly
- work on various projects including building walls, chimneys, arches, and paving
Requirements
- proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role
- proficient in masonry techniques including bricklaying and welding
- familiarity with a range of hand and power tools used in masonry work
- ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- experience working as a carpenter or in roofing would be advantageous
- bricklaying: 5 years
- masonry: 1 year
