Responsibility
- conduct thorough inspections of HGVs to identify mechanical issues and faults
- perform repairs and maintenance on various components, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems
- utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs effectively
- read and interpret schematics to assist in troubleshooting problems
- fabricate parts as necessary to ensure the proper functioning of vehicles
- maintain accurate records of all work performed on vehicles
- collaborate with other technicians and staff to ensure timely completion of repairs
- adhere to health and safety regulations at all times while working in the workshop environment
Requirements
- proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role is preferred
- strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively
- familiarity with using hand tools, and power tools, safely and efficiently
- experience in soldering and performing equipment repair tasks is advantageous
- ability to dig into complex problems and maintain a solution-oriented approach
- A valid driving licence is essential for this position
