- assist in managing the import/cross trade / export process from start to finish

- providing administrative assistance to the Sustainability Manager

- obtain all necessary information to ensure correct measures are in place and customer needs are met
- liaise between Suppliers, Forwarders and agents to obtain up to date shipment information
- make sure goods are fit for transit, this may require reworking pallets
- load and unload trailers/containers; goods can be handball and will require palletisation
- please ensure you research the International Freight Forwarder Apprenticeship Standards to applying. Please note this is a level 3 apprenticeship and may take up to 18 months to complete
- ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments
- please ensure you research the Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Standards to applying. Please note this is a level 2 apprenticeship and may take more than 12 months to complete
- provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met
- if you have current or previous warehouse experience, please do not apply for this role. Apprenticeship funding is based on filling knowledge gaps, so prior experience reduces your chances of being accepted on to the apprenticeship
- complete loading and unloading manifests, produce labels and mark up freight
- the Apprentice must provide a high-quality service to both internal and external customers, whilst also liaising with suppliers and transport companies
- manage goods in/out office work load; check drivers in, complete driver paperwork, update log of vehicles devanning
- assist in processing customer carbon reports requests
- ensure correct documentation is on file and act accordingly as set out in the instructions

- assist in the maintenance of files ensuring they are costed and billed correctly in accordance with procedures provided by management
- act as a key contact within Woodland Group for any ESG related queries from colleagues

- contribute to regular communications that promote initiatives and update colleagues across the business on sustainability related changes
- any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department
- identifying relevant risks or areas for improvement within the businesses and working with colleagues to devise effective corrective strategies; and
- assist in covering colleagues when required; and
- monitoring Woodland Group’s various operational sites to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO14001 and other environmental standards as appropriate, assisting with submissions and audits where appropriate
- when you join Woodland as an International Freight Forwarder Apprentice, you will learn how cargo is transported around the world and the critical role that freight forwarders play in this logistical process
- complete all Apprenticeship work as required
- assisting the Sustainability Manager in the development of sustainability/carbon reduction projects across the business and taking ownership of implementation and delivery where required
- you will provide operational support to the food and beverage department, assisting the team with day-to-day activities, helping to keep the workload organised and ensure an efficient operational service is provided
- capture and input data from across the business for various ESG related reporting
