  • an individual who is passionate about Music and promotes enthusiasm and interest for the subject
  • an ability to teach Music through to A Level
  • experience of having taught across the full 11 to 18 age range
  • experience of all ability teaching with a particular awareness of the needs of able students
  • experience of music recording and production software would be an advantage

Responsibility

  • to participate with other colleagues in the development of appropriate syllabuses, materials, schemes of work and lesson plans, which should engage, stimulate and challenge students of all abilities, and should cater for all learning styles
  • to register each class using Bromcom according to school procedures
  • to supervise the use and care of Wirral Grammar School for Boy’s fabric and equipment by the students and to ensure their adherence to relevant health and safety regulations
  • to take reasonable care of one’s own health and safety and that of others
  • employees will be expected to comply with any reasonable request from a manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description
  • assisting the Head of Music with the development of new material for all Key Stages, including sixth form practical examinations
  • to participate actively in meetings with colleagues and parents/carers
  • use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets and plan subsequent lessons
