Responsibility
- ensure all parents are free from Child to Parent Abuse
- ensure all young persons supported are given opportunities to develop their life skills and positive social behaviours
- ensure every young person supported is safeguarded from harm
- we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We require you to understand and demonstrate this commitment
- prevent family breakdown by delivering support to parents of children of all ages through visits to the family; either at their home or at other suitable venues, by telephone or via email/social media
- attending key meetings to support families in crisis
- contributing to project development opportunities for the company
- maintain a caseload of families and maintaining accurate records
Requirements
- qualified to Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent
- 1 years experience in Family Support Worker is required
- experience with supporting families with SEN/D issues would be an advantage
- demonstrate an understanding of the safe working practices that apply to this role
- ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children and young people
- experience of working with young people, their parents and/or carers and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively
- ability to respond in a calm and professional manner in stressful or hostile situations
- social work: 1 year
