Responsibility

  • assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency
  • maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen
  • help train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
  • participate in menu planning, including seasonal specials and cost-effective dishes
  • monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely
  • collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods

Requirements

  • proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
  • comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen best practices
  • excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes
  • ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
