Responsibility
- operate MIG welding equipment to weld metal components according to specifications
- fabricate and assemble metal structures and parts, ensuring adherence to safety standards
- perform quality checks on welds and finished products, making adjustments as necessary
- use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal materials
- maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored after use
- collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- follow all safety protocols while working in the fabrication environment
Requirements
- proven experience in MIG welding; additional skills in stick welding are a plus
- strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to welding tasks
- experience working with sheet metal is advantageous
- proficient in using various hand tools and power tools relevant to the welding trade
- ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating good communication skills
- attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work
