Responsibility

  • attention to detail is essential in both understanding the systems design and functionality as well as identifying potential issues on site
  • you are to provide full assistance to the maintenance department in the preparation of remedial quotations
  • this is a general outline of the position and the role is expected to evolve and change over time as
  • test, repair, inspect and maintain a wide range of life safety equipment in accordance with the relevant legislation, company specifications and manufacturers guidelines
  • knowledge and experience is gained
  • document tasks completed and other relevant information pertaining to the visit, in a service report. This must be recorded electronically, along with site photos and videos, to be issued to the maintenance department after each visit
  • to provide detailed defect reporting and to liaise with clients to resolve defects, advise on the possible causes and solutions that will prevent reoccurrence
  • to liaise with the maintenance department highlighting potential sales opportunities for the full range of products and services offered by Vent Engineering

Requirements

  • will preferably have a Fire Alarm or Smoke Ventilation qualification
  • have an organised & methodical approach
  • some experience of working within the smoke ventilation/ life safety industry
  • have a high attention to detail
  • site experience, ideally holding a CSCS Card
  • be results orientated
  • have strong problem-solving abilities
  • experience in fault finding and undertaking technical assessment with a view to resolving problems
