- designing and specifying building services systems
- preparing cost estimates and schedules
- preparing technical reports and specifications
- conducting site inspections and surveys
- providing guidance on compliance with building codes and regulations
- managing projects and coordinating with other members of the design team
- monitoring progress on the construction or retrofit of building services systems
