- safely operate a commercial vehicle, such as a truck or tractor-trailer, to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving and ensure the safe delivery of cargo
- load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines and optimize efficiency
- inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure
- maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise
Requirements
- proven experience as a truck driver or delivery driver
- clean driving record with no recent accidents or traffic violations
- familiarity with flatbed trucks and their loading/unloading procedures is preferred
- strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards
- valid commercial driver's license with the appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being operated
