Responsibility
- develops and implements an operations strategy for short, medium and long-term in alignment with the overall business development strategy
- plans and monitors all manufacturing activities together with the department head
- develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures for maintaining standards of manufacturing operations and product quality
- identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and to reduce cost and scrap
- sets targets for the entire division as well as each department
- sets effective KPI’s to measure performance in all operations areas
- conducts the annual planning process for the operations departments in coordination with the other departments and senior management
- hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff together with the HR department
Requirements
- A different educational background is possible if the incumbent has a proven track record in a similar position
- knowledge of / experience in industrial engineering, lean management techniques and preferably project management
- willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally
- proven presentation skills
- sound knowledge of standard business applications
- an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, business administration or a related field with a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior role in production, production planning or supply chain management
- strong operations background - at least five years experience in manufacturing management or in plant management either with responsibility for a manufacturing segment with a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer
